Miriam Nelson Fleischman, 90, of Boca Raton, FL, and Fayetteville, NY passed away November 29 in Boca. A 45-year breast cancer survivor who made every day count, she was unselfish, young at heart, and the glue of the family. Mimi, daughter of Rose and Mendel Nelson, was raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA, with siblings Charles, Elinor and Joseph Nelson, who predeceased her. She graduated from Wyoming Seminary and Maryland College for Women. She was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun in Syracuse, a life member of Hadassah, and a volunteer at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital. She loved bridge, movies, theater, and lunch at Arbys. Mimi, whose husband, Hilbert "Hillie" Fleischman died in 1985, is survived by daughters, Ann F. Spector of Chittenango, NY, and Joan Fleischman (Jim Casey) of Coral Gables, FL; sisters-in-law, Louise Nelson of Kingston, PA, Pat, and Barbara Biron (Jim) of Longboat Key, FL; nieces and nephews, Ann Weisbrod (George Arzt), Mark, Robert (Rhonda) and Lisa Nelson, Liza Brown (Rick), Stephen (Leslie), Sara (Sam Radin), and Jonathan Nelson, and Suzanne Yellen (Murray Plotkin); several great nieces and nephews; cousins, Richard Fleischman (Carole) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Marjorie Fink of Palm Beach, FL, and Mimis special friends, who meant the world to her. Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Temple Adath Yeshurun, with calling hours from 1 to 2 p.m. Rabbi Charles Sherman will preside. Burial will be next to her husband at the synagogues cemetery.
