Benjamin Ziegler , 83, of 307 N. Manlius St., Fayetteville, died Monday at home. A native of New York City, Mr. Ziegler was a Syracuse area resident for 45 years. In 1954, he co-founded the Snowflake Bakery on East Fayette Street. Seven years later, he began teaching baking and decorating for the Manpower Development Training Program for the state of New York. He was the founder of Ziegler \'s Bakers Supply and Equipment Corp. He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, Philo-Mt. Sinai Masonic Lodge, Central City Consistory and Tigris Shrine. He also was a member of Central New York Bakers\' Association, Mohawk Valley Bakers\' Association and the Retail Bakers of America. His first wife, Minnie, died in 1984. Surviving are his wife, Muriel; a son, Larry of DeWitt; a daughter, Sheila Brittin of Liverpool; a stepdaughter, Rosally Pugliese of Manlius; a stepson, Roger Fiffer of New York City; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, Rabbi Charles S. Sherman and Cantor Harold Lerner officiating. Calling hours are 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, 1909 E. Fayette St.
After the funeral, friends may call at the family residence, 307 N. Manlius St., Fayetteville.
