Born 5/15/1926
Died 6/4/2009 in Syracuse, NY
.

Frances Ginsburg Kaplan, 83, died peacefully early Thursday morning at Frances House, with her family by her side. "Frannie" was a teacher\'s aide with the Syracuse schools for 28 years, first at HW Smith and then at Nottingham. She was in charge of the in-school detention program at both schools. Her patience and love made a tough job easier. The students respected her; they knew she was the boss, a boss with a combination of hugs, hot cocoa and graham crackers. After retiring, Frannie kept busy. She volunteered, and was the matriarch of the morning minion at Temple Adath. She kept the peace while preparing breakfast at 6:45 every morning. She always smiled, her blue eyes always twinkled, and your day always started better after one of her hugs. Everyone loved her. Her soulmate and husband of 50 years, Bob, died in 1998. Survived by her children, Gary (Paula), Jack (Peggy Park), Larry (Josette), Chaim (Beth); her brothers, Seymour (Anne) Ginsburg and Joseph Ginsburg; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at Temple Adath Yeshurun. Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service on Sunday, from 3 to 4 p.m., at the temple, 450 Kimber Road, Syracuse. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. At Frannie\'s request, contributions may be made to Frances House.
