Jacob was active in the Shkolim Committee of the Poale Zion group, a Zionist organization, in the 1930s. He owned several cattle farms in the Clay and Cicero NY areas. In 1976, he founded Tri State Auto Auction in Cicero with his brother Ben and his son Elliott. He was a member of Philo-Mt. Sinai Masonic Lodge and LaFayette Country Club.
