Edward "Eddie" Steinberg, 80, of Jamesville, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Menorah Park with his family at his side. Ed is the son of the late Samuel and Charlotte Steinberg. He was a 1949 graduate of Central High, former member of the Army National Guard, founder of GEM Sports, associated with Ra-Lin\\'s for over 50 years and one of the original partners of the Intermont Ski Area in Solon, NY. Eddie was also a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, the Brotherhood and Philo-Mt. Sinai Lodge for over 51 years. Most of all, Eddie was a loving father and husband, and a devoted uncle and grandfather whose family were truly his pride and joy. He was also a kind and gentle person, always there to help a friend in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marilyn Karch Steinberg; sons, David Steinberg and Gary (Tammi) Steinberg; grandchildren, Traci (Justin) Fine, Seth Steinberg and Elyssa Steinberg; and sister-in-law, Eileen, and brother-in-law, Dr. Fritz E. Froehlich. Services will be conducted noon Monday, March 28, 2011, at Temple Adath Yeshurun, 450 Kimber Road. Friends may visit with the family 11 a.m. to noon Monday, prior to the service, at the temple. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Temple Adath Yeshurun or the Employees Fund at Menorah Park, 4101 East Genesee St., Syracuse, NY 13214. The family thanks the staff at Menorah Park for the loving and wonderful care he received by them all. They will all especially miss his great smile and his easygoing nature.
