Muriel Susan Calmis Sachs, 71, of Edmond, OK, formerly of Camillus, died Monday, December 17, 2012, in Edmond, OK. Muriel was born in New York City on January 21, 1941, to the late Ruth and Abraham Calmis. Muriel graduated from William Cullen Bryant High School in NY in 1959. For many years she worked for Sears of Camillus until her retirement in 2000. Later she worked for M and T Bank in Fairmount. After moving to Edmond, OK, Muriel volunteered at the Hope Center and the Edmond Hospital. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Calmis, and husband, Jerome Sachs. Survived by her sons, Andrew (Kelly) Sachs and Gregg Sachs; grandchildren, Jared, Elijah, Justin, Courtney and Trevor Sachs; and sisters-in-law, Rosalyn (Chet) Menkes and Diane Calmis. Services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012, at the Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 E. Fayette Street. Friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery.
