December 23, 2003 Rudolph Eckstein, 79, died Tuesday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Hungary, Mr. Eckstein has been a resident of Syracuse for 50 years. He was employed by Roth Steel Co. and Onondaga County, having retired in 1984. Mr. Eckstein was a former member of Temple Adath Yeshurun. His wife Helen Miller Eckstein died in 1991. Survivors: a sister Eva Torres (Albert); a brother Joseph (Mary); nephews, Morris Torres and Peter Eckstein; a niece Dora Torres; two great-nephews and three great-nieces; one great-great-nephew. Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made to Jewish Family Service, 4101 E. Genesee Street. Birnbaum funeral service inc.
