Eliot Birnbaum
Eliot Birnbaum, 89, of 312 Scottholm Terrace, died Sunday at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital. Mr. Birnbaum retired in 1962 as an industrial arts teacher at the former had taught industrial arts at the
YMCA and Dunbar Center. Mr. Birnbaum was a graduate of Syracuse University, where he also received a masters degree. Mr. Birnbaum was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun and a former president of the New York State Federation of Teachers. Surviving are his wife, Jean; a son, Dr. Michael Birnbaum of Bryn Mawr, Pa.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made to Temple Adath Yeshurun.
