Sidney Paikoff, 81, beloved husband, father and grandfather, former resident of Syracuse, died September 22, in Boca Raton, Florida. He was a graduate of Columbia University School of Pharmacy in 1949, a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun and served as its ritual chairman for many years. He was a major in the United States Air Force and served 19 years as a member of the air national guard. He owned his own store, Marks Pharmacy in Syracuse from 1965 through 1981. He was also formerly employed by the State of NY and Rite Aid Corporation as a pharmacist retiring in 1995. Survived by wife Marlene Grass Paikoff; brother, Dr. Myron (Joan) Paikoff; daughters, Dr. Roberta (Keith) Holzmueller, Dr. Sari Paikoff, sons, Eric Paikoff, Mark (Miriam) Paikoff; grandchildren, Nathan and Aaron Holzmueller and Lillian, Zachary and Ava Paikoff, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 25, at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 East Fayette Street. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Temple Adath Yeshurun.
