Son of Mr. Morris Lavine who resided in Syracuse, New York. Harry served as a Staff Sergeant and Waist Gunner on B-17 "Little Butch" #42-29594, 429th Bomber Squadron, 2nd Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He resided in Onondaga County, New York prior to the war. Harry was "Killed In Action" when his B-17 was hit by German Flax and crashed in Italy during the war. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart. Service # 32289282 His brother, 2LT Sanford V. Lavine, was also "Killed In Action" during the war. They are interred in the same cemetery.
