Dr. Jordan Malcolm Levinson, 81, died Tuesday morning at St. Josephs Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, he had been a resident of Syracuse since 1963. Dr. Levinson was a practicing Optometrist for over 50 years, with offices in Lyncourt. He was a physics major at Ogelthorpe University where he lettered in basketball, tennis and golf. Dr. Levinson then received his Doctor of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in 1955. Jordan was a member of Lake Shore Yacht and CC where he was an avid and talented golfer. He is survived by his wife, Mimi of 50 years; their children, Audrey (Tim) Levinson-Weigand and Dr. Bruce (Andrea Becker) Levinson; their grandchildren, Seth, Amber, Sydney, and Max; his beloved Yorkie, Miss Ellie; and nephew, Barry (Bonnie) Ivler. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Thursday, at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street, from 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, in Jordan\\\'s memory may be made to cancer research.
