Samuel Lavine, 83. retired merchant tailor, and charter member of Tempie Adath Yeshurun, died Sunday night at his home 1417 E. Genesee. He had been a resident of Syracuse 80 years. Surviving are five daughters. Mrs Myer Kaufman, Mrs. Abraham J. Allanstein, Mrs Nathan Cohen, Mrs. Theodora Finn and Mrs. Ely W. Marquisee, the latter of Hartford, Conn.; a son, Samuel Lavine of Pittsburgh, Pa ; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at the home at 3 oclock Tuesday afternoon, Rabbi Jesse Bienenfeld officiating. Burial will be in Temple Adath Yeshurun cemetery.
