May 24, 2004 Leta Birnbaum, the beloved mother of Wendi, and Daniel, and wife of Irwin went to her eternal rest on May 24, 2004. She was the daughter of William and Belle Kupperman who predeceased her many years ago. She and her husband were inseparable high school sweethearts from the time they were sixteen attending Nottingham High School. She was asked to contribute her thoughts to a medical book by noted glaucoma surgeon, George Spaeth. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Friends may call Thursday at the family residence from 4 to 7, and Friday, from noon to 2 at the funeral chapel, 1909 E. Fayette Street. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery.
