Rites Tomorrow For Eli Gerber
Last rites for Eli Gerber, 91, of 229 Scott Ave., who died yesterday, will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the Birnbaum Funeral Home with Dr. Irwin I. Hyman, Dr. Benjamin Friedman and Cantor Harold Lerner. officiating. Burial will be In Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Friends may call today at the Birbaum Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Mr. Gerber was a native of Poland and had been a resident of Syracuse 70 years. He came to the United States in 1885. Before coming to this country he married the late Mrs. Caroline Marquissee Gerber of Poland. He owned a shoe store at 602 Harrison St. for many years. Surviving are four sons, Louis C., William W., A. Steve and Sidney L. M. Gerber; four daughters. Mrs. Mildred Gerber of Syracuse. Mrs. Rae Cahn of Miami Beach, Fla.. Mrs. B. A.Field of Cedarhurst, and Mrs, Sidney S. Haas of Cleveland. O.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
