Ethel Goldberg Katz
August 25, 2007 Ethel C. Goldberg, 80, died Saturday in Longmeadow, MA. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Ethel had lived most of her life in Syracuse. She was a graduate of Syracuse University, attended the Wyoming Seminary, was a member of the ladies auxiliary of Crouse Hospital, the Syracuse Jewish Federation, Hadassah, Phi-Sigma-Sigma Sorority, Temple Adath Yeshurun and the sisterhood of the temple. Ethel was also a skilled and avid bridge player. Her first husband, Leonard "Skippy" Goldberg, died in 1995. Survived by her husband, Maury Katz; her daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbi and Mike Ergort and Gail and Rick Shapero; her grandchildren, Kevin and Melissa Tassi, Traci and Andrew Bort, and Lindsay and Adam Amidon; and great-grandchildren, Lucas, Laney and Brooke Bort. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sisskind Funeral Service. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel, 3175 East Genesee Street.
