September 7, 2005 George Batki, 93, passed away at his home on September 7. Born in Eger, Hungary, he was a survivor of the Holocaust. Following the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, he brought his family to the United States in 1957. He retired from the SUNY College of Forestry in 1970 and continued to work for the remainder of his life as a realtor, and later, as owner of the International Translation Service. He was a recipient of Onondaga County\'s Citizenship Award. He was also a champion swimmer, active in Masters swimming competitions until the age of 91. He is survived by Margaret, his wife of 64 years, and his sons, John and Steve; daughters-in-law, Trudi and Luisa; as well as seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
