Ivy (Brenner) Besdin
Ivy Besdin, 92, died early Saturday morning at Menorah Park. Born on March 28, 1926 in Harrisburg, PA to Samuel and Edna Brenner, she had been a resident of Syracuse since 1947. Ivy, a woman of valor, was the first woman VP of Temple Adath Yeshurun, and was equally proud to have been the past chairperson of the woman\'s division of the Syracuse Jewish Federation. She was always an active volunteer in the Syracuse community. Her husband Robert H. Besdin died in 2008. Her family includes her daughter Helaine (Bruce) Sherman; grandsons Evan (Christina), and Sam; great grandsons Gavin and Allister; and her brother Herbert Brenner.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday morning from 10-11 at Temple Adath Yeshurun. A private graveside service will follow. Shiva will be observed at Helaine and Bruces home on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 7-9PM. www.sisskindfuneralservice.com
