Edith A. Tischler Alpern, 87, of 427 Thurber St., Syracuse, died Wednesday at Hill Park Health Care Center. She was born in Syracuse. She was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, the Sisterhood of the temple, Hadassah and the auxiliary of the Jewish Home of Central New York. Her husband, Jules, died in 1958.
Survivors: A daughter. Iris Maxon of Syracuse: a son, Michael of Key West, Fla.; two sisters. Rose Winkler of the Bronx and Ruth Goelz of Boynton Beach, Fla.; a brother, Harris Tischler of West Palm Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Services: 1 p.m. Sunday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Calling hour, noon to I p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel, 1909 E. Fayette St., Syracuse. Contributions: Patient Care Fund at Hill Park Health Care Center, 4001 E. Genesee St., Syracuse 13214.
