Nathan Joshua (Naftalovich) Goldberg
Nathan was born in Bessarabia, which is now known as Moldova. He arrived in the U.S. in 1900 and changed his name from Naftalovich to Goldberg. He worked as a peddler, and then started a junk and waste paper recycling business. He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, the Elks, L.O.O.F. (Odd Fellows), Lessing Lodge 851, and numerous Jewish charitable organizations.
