LEWIS ROTHENBERG passed away on November 29 in West Palm Beach Florida, at age 82. He was born in Harrisville New York, and raised in Syracuse, where he lived until age 72. For over 40 years, he was the owner of Nottingham Liquors, in Nottingham Plaza. A veteran of the Second World War, Mr. Rothenberg served in the Pacific, from 1939 until 1945. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor, and fought on Guadalcanal, in the Solomon Islands, as well as the Philippines. A long time member of the Orange Pack, he was an avid Syracuse University sports fan. Mr. Rothenberg is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Arlene Shriber; by his brother Joseph: by his children: David and Susan Rothenberg; Paula Harwood and Marc Bumgardner; Jill Rothenberg and Jane Simmons; and Pamela Rothenberg and Michael Hill; and by his four grandchildren, John, Alexis, Michael and Audra. He was predeceased by his brother Sam. Friends may call at Birnbaums Funeral home on Wednesday; from 1-2 p.m. Funeral services to be held at 2 p.m. The family will sit shiva at 528 Plum Court, #104 through Sunday.
