Allen Renert, 91, died early Saturday morning. Al was a life-long resident of Syracuse and had lived in Dewitt until moving last year to NYC to be closer to his family. Al owned D. Renert and Sons Furniture Fair until retiring. He honorably served his country during WWII in the US Army, and was a lifetime member of Temple Adath Yeshurun. He was the son of David and Etta (Teckler) Renert, and the last surviving of their nine children. Al was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mitzi in January of 2005 and their son, Joel in December of 2007. His loving family includes his daughters, Dana and Marcia; and his adored granddaughter, Maddy. Funeral services will be at noon Monday, April 28, at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to The Ben and Goldye Meltzer Endowment Fund at the Syracuse JCC.
