Mrs. Eleanor Opper of Cherry Hill Rd., DeWitt, died Sunday, November 21. A former resident of Chicago, Mrs. Opper had lived in Syracuse for 20 years. She was the original franchise owner of the McDonalds in Onondaga County, with restaurants on Erie Blvd. East and Old Liverpool Rd. Mrs. Opper was a member and past president of the Chicago Chapter of Save-a-Life League of City of Hope and a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun and its Sisterhood. She was also a member of the National Council of Jewish Women, Hadassah and Bnai Brith Womens Organization. Surviving are her husband, Manny Opper; a son, Norman (Debbi) Opper of DeWitt, NY; three grandsons, Scott, Todd and Jared; two sisters, Mrs. Marilyn Hadden and Mrs. Clara Bern, both of Chicago; and three grandsons. Services were Tuesday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Rabbi Charles S. Sherman and Cantor Harold Lerner officiated. Burial was in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery.
