Seymour Roth
September 5, 2003 Seymour Roth of Fayetteville, New York died Friday. Born in 1917, Seymour was a lifelong resident of Syracuse. Mr. Roth was co-owner of Roth Steel Corporation and active in the Scrap Metal Industry for more than 60 years. Mr. Roth was the son of Philip and Leona Roth. Mr. Roth graduate from Syracuse University in 1939 and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity in which he remained active throughout his life. Mr. Roth was also a lifelong member of Temple Adath Yeshurun. In addition, Mr. Roth was involved with various philanthropic causes in the Syracuse area including: The Everson Museum, Syracuse University and Manlius Pebble Hill School. Mr. Roth was past president of the Institute of Scrap Iron and Steel and a vice president of Bowling Corporation of America. Seymour was a collector of antique cars and had a television screenplay credit, "The Kid With The Golden Gloves." He is survived by his beloved wife Naomi Brown, his two daughters, Phillippe Roth and Susan Rudolph and a brother, Lewis Roth. Mr. Roth is also survived by two grandchildren, Adam and Alexander Rudolph and two great-grandchildren Dane and Ellie Rudolph. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Temple Adath Yeshurun, 450 Kimber Road. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Temple. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Beginning Monday evening friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the family residence.
