She was a congregant at Temple Adath Yeshurun. Helen is the daughter of the late Abraham and Minfred Novick. She was predeceased by her siblings, Leonard, Harold, Edward Novick and June Hirshberg; her husband J. Harry Goldberg; her son-in-law Lawrence Carmen and her granddaughter, Martha Carmen. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Carmen; son, Richard Goldberg; grandsons, Mathew Carmen and Peter (Mary Beth) Carmen and great-grandchildren, Margaret and Jackson Carmen. Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. The family will receive visitors at the home of her daughter, Joyce Carmen, on Sunday, April 1, from noon until 3 p.m. Expressions of condolence in honor of her exemplary life may be made to the Arc of Onondaga Foundation, 600 Wilbur Ave, Syracuse, 13204. birnbaum funeral service inc
