Ruth "Babe" Greenhouse, 87, died Saturday evening after a brief illness at Community General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. "Babe" was a life resident of Syracuse and more recently of Delray Beach, Florida. She was a dedicated volunteer all her life, beginning with the Red Cross during WWII. A past president of the sisterhood of Temple Adath Yeshurun, she also served as the president of the New York State branch of Womens League for Conservative Judaism and was a member of the international board. She was predeceased by her son, Ronnie, in 1960. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Lawrence; her daughters and sons-in-law, Janine and Danny Price, and Nan and Howard Miller; five grandchildren; three great-grand-children; her brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Janice Frank; and her sister, Bernadine Weiss. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Temple Adath Yeshurun. Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the temple, 450 Kimber Road, Syracuse. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery.
