Shirley Luxenberg November 10, 2011 Shirley Luxenberg, 89, died Thursday in Austin, TX. Born in Syracuse, Shirley had moved to Connecticut in 1966, and then California in 1979. She then moved to Austin in 2005. When in Syracuse, Shirley was a sales associate for E.W. Edwards in downtown Syracuse and a former member of Temple Beth El. Shirley was an administrator for Prudential Insurance in Westlake, CA. Throughout her life she volunteered and supported her community. She is survived by her husband, Manny of 63 years; their children, Howard (Paula) Luxenberg, and Sharon (David) Turnbull; their grandchildren, Yvette, Geoffrey, Sarah, and Lauren; her sister, Beverly Cooper Silvers; and her brother, Dr. Sidney P. Albert. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Alzheimers Association. Sisskind Funeral Service LLC 3175 E.
