Mildred "Mickey" Seigle died Friday, November 19, 2010, at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Syracuse on December 12, 1912. Mildred attended Syracuse city schools. She worked at Levy Junior High School in the cafeteria, where she enjoyed talking and dishing out large amounts of food to the students. She also worked at the election polls, as an inspector, with her husband for over 30 years for the Republican Party. Mildred volunteered her services at Upstate Medical Hospital and was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun and its Sisterhood. Mickey was a jazz and blues singer. She was predeceased by her husband, Sgt. William J. Seigle, and daughter, Barbara Ann Seigle. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cece and Abe Silverbush; grandchildren, Bradley (Brett), Paula Sue, Mark (Kelley), Jeffrey, Bnai R., E.R. (Sandy); seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Arthur (Harriet) Mickelson; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 E. Fayette Street. Friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday, prior to the service, at the chapel. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Temple Adath Yeshurun. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff on 6 North at Crouse Hospital, and health aides Bonnie Brown and Betty Oliver for their professionalism and outstanding services they provided.
