Dr. Martin L. Finkelstein, 62, of 322 Main St., a podiatrist for more than 40 years, died Friday in Oneida City Hospital. Dr. Finkelstein had lived in Syracuse before moving to Oneida 14 years ago. He was born in New York City where he attended the Juilliard School of music for a brief time and Stuyvesant High School. He attended the Illinois School of Podiatry and the New York School of Podiatry. Dr. Finkelstein was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, the New York State Society of Podiatry, Elks Club, Moose Club, Lions Club and Oneida Tribe. He was also active in the Oneida city and Madison County Democratic Party. Surviving are his wife, the former Irene Altman; two daughters, Mrs. Allan (Rena) Cantor, DeWitt, and Mrs. Eric (Norene) La vine. North Syracuse; three brothers, Albert Finkelstein, Bronx; Bernard Shaw, Rosedale, and Michael Shaw, Bronx, and a sister, Mrs. Stella Langer, Brooklyn. The funeral will be at 11 Sunday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, Syracuse. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Shivah will be observed in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cantor. Contributions may be made to the Jewish Home of Central New York, Syracuse.
