October 22, 2005 Dr. Morton E. Fine, 84, a resident of Syracuse, died Saturday evening, October 22, 2005, in the VA Hospital in Canandaigua. Dr. Fine practiced family dentistry in Baldwinsville for 40 years and conducted oral biological research. As a veteran of World War II, Dr. Fine served as a medical tech in North Africa and the Italian Po Valley, and was wounded in the Leghorn/Cassini Invasion. He was a graduate of Buffalo Dental, and served his residency in Newark. He attended numerous international conferences and held many certificates from the AFIP. Dr. Fine was a member of Young Israel-Shaarei Torah, Temple Adath Yeshurun, and Congregation Beth Sholom Cherva Shas. He was also a life member of the Jewish War Veterans, D.A.V., 5th District Dental Society, and AO Dental Fraternity. Dr. Fine was the High Holiday Torah reader at Temple Beth El for 20 years, and tutored many men in the Syracuse community to learn Hebrew and participate in Synagogue services. Dr. Fine was predeceased in 1949 by his father, Rabbi Abraham Jacob Fine, of Chevra Shas. Survived by his wife, Professor Ethel H. Fine. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, at the Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Chapel, 1909 East Fayette Street.
