Although Arliene Stempler, 87, of blessed memory, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012, she will live on forever in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She worked tirelessly and held numerous leadership positions in local and national civic and religious organizations too numerous to list. She was a pioneer for her time, owning and operating an all-women print shop in Brooklyn, New York, until her retirement in 2001. Her love for Israel and her faith was only surpassed by her love for her husband Sandy of 69 years and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Although a fervent Brooklynite and Florida snowbird, she and her beloved husband, Sandy, moved to Syracuse in 2002 to be closer to family and became full-time residents three years ago. Arliene is survived by her husband, Sandy; children, Michael, Ellen and Howard; grandchildren, Tammy (David), Jessica (Gregg), Josh (Caroline), Danielle, Ilyse, Lisa and Valerie; and great-grandchildren Jamie, Nathan, Sydney, Carly, Olivia, Max, Ava, Tessa and Evan. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. tomorrow, Sunday, at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service, from noon to 1 p.m., at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. The week of Shiva will be observed at Ellen and Howard\\'s home. Contributions may be made to the local chapter of Naamat, Temple Adath Yeshurun, the Jewish Community Center of Syracuse or Menorah Park of CNY.
