Paula Alexander
Paula Alexander, 85, died peacefully at her home Saturday evening. Born in Fulton, NY, Mrs. Alexander had lived most of her life in Syracuse. She was a graduate of Syracuse University, with a degree in accounting, and worked with her late husband, Lawrence H. Alexander, in his accounting practice located in the Wilson Building for many years. Paula was a member of both Temple Adath Yeshurun and Congregation Beth Sholom-Chevra Shas. She was a devoted supporter and past president of Amit Women, an organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged children in Israel; an endowed Lion of Judah; and a great supporter of Israel and the Jewish community of Central New York. Survived by her children, Dr. Howard (Sara) Alexander and Brian (Beth) Alexander; her grandchildren, Jonathan and Hannah Alexander; and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Bernstein. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service, from noon to 1 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Jewish Federation of Central New York.
