Robert Malzman, 85, died Friday morning at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Crotona, NY, Bob had been a resident of Syracuse since 1964. In the 1970\'s, he and his son, Cliff, co-founded Cannon Pools. Bob was overjoyed when his grandson, Ari, joined the company as a Vice President, insuring the continuity of their family business. Bob was a proud veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean War. He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, Onondaga County Post 131 of the Jewish War Veterans, a member of The National Spa and Pool Institute, and a former director of the Better Business Bureau of CNY.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Temple Adath Yeshurun. Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Temple, 450 Kimber Road. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Frieda; and his brothers, Martin and David. His loving family includes his wife, Ellie of 63 years; their children, Cliff and Bobbi Malzman, and Jaime Malzman; their grandchildren, Alissa and Justin Sterling, and Ari and Jessica Malzman; their great-grandson, Asher Sterling; his sister, Shirley Zucker; and many nieces and nephews.
Contributions may be made to Temple Adath Yeshurun, or Hospice of CNY. Shiva will be observed Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cliff and Bobbi\'s home. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Scalzo, Dr. Berkery, and Dr. Kohn for their care and compassion.
