Harry Ehrenpreis, 85, of 770 James St. died Tuesday in Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital. He was the owner and founder of Ehrenpreis Shoes Inc., a chain of retail womens shoe departments in womens specialty shops. A native of New York City, Mr. Ehrenpresis lived in Syracuse 53 years. He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, the Masonic Order and Jewish Home of Central New York. He was a former member and past president of New York State Retail Shoe Association. He served in World War I in the Army. Surviving are his wife, Malk Ehrenpreis; a son, Sheldon of Scranton, Pa.; and two grandchildren. Services were today at 11 a.m. at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, Rabbi Charles S. Sherman officiating. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery.
