Shirley K. Grower, a lifelong resident of Syracuse , died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Jewish Home of Central New York. Mrs. Grower had worked in the cosmetic department at Chappells Department Store for 29 years until her retirement in 1992. Shirley was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, volunteered for the American Lung Association and Moses DeWitt Elementary School. Mrs. Grower was predeceased by her husband, Martin Grower in 2003; and sister, Evelyn Mallin in 1985. Survived by her daughters, JoAnn Grower, and Marcia (David) Mizruchi; granddaughter, Mikayla Mizruchi; two sisters, Ethel Volinsky and Dorothy Grower; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted today, Friday, January 11, 2008, 2 p.m. at the Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 E. Fayette St. Friends may call today from 1 to 2 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery.
