Former Syracuse resident Helene Rosenbloom Weiner, 63, of 14960 Wildflower Lane, Delray Beach, Fla., died Wednesday at Hospice of West Palm Beach, Fla. Born in Syracuse , she lived here until moving to Florida in 1989. She graduated from St. Joseph\'s Hospital School of Nursing and earned a bachelor\'s degree in nursing from Syracuse University. Mrs. Weiner worked at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City, and was a public health nurse for Madison County. She entered the Navy and attained the rank of lieutenant, serving from 1956 to 1959. She then became an instructor of nursing for the Syracuse City School District. She taught an adult practical nursing program at Central Tech for 30 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun and Onondaga Post 131 Jewish War Veterans. Surviving are her husband, Warren; her mother, Sarah Rosenbloom of DeWitt; two brothers, Morris Rosenbloom of Syracuse and David of Athens, Pa.; two sisters, Elizabeth Schwartz of DeWitt and Ida Korzelius of North Syracuse ; a stepdaughter, Deborah Strube of Hicksville; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces.
Services will be 11 a.m. Sunday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, Rabbi Charles S. Sherman officiating. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Calling hours are 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel, 1909 E. Fayette St., Syracuse. After the funeral, friends may call at the home of her sister, Elizabeth Schwartz, 213 Sutton Place, DeWitt.
