Jack Bloom, 83, of 127 Doll Parkway, died Sunday at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital. Mr. Bloom was a life resident of Syracuse. Before his retirement in 1980, he was a sales manager for many years with Daws Drug Store and Rite Aid Drug Stores on Westcott Street and on East Genesee Street in DeWitt. Mr. Bloom was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, its Seniors Group and the seniors group at the Syracuse Jewish Community Center. He was a volunteer at the Jewish Community Center. An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Bloom was a member of Onondaga Post 131, Jewish War Veterans, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife, Esther; a brother, David of Syracuse; a sister, Ethyle Freshman of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, Rabbi Charles Sherman and cantors Emanuel C. Perlman and Harold Lerner officiating. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery.
