June 19, 2006 Harvey Joseph Tucker, 80, died Monday at JFK Hospital in West Palm Beach. Born in Albany, Harvey had been a resident of Syracuse since childhood. In the late 1940s he founded Dy-Dee Diaper service. The business grew to include locations throughout New York State, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. A division, PQ Linen service was added in the 1990s. Harvey was a respected authority in his industry. He was a past president of the National Association of Diaper Services. In retirement Mr. Tucker was a sought after consultant. He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, Cavalry Club, Lafayette CC, The Fountains CC, and a board member of Community General and St. Josephs Hospitals. Harvey was dedicated to Francis House. Its success and growth was in great part due to his personal commitment. Harvey was predeceased by his wife, Shirley in 2002. Survived by his son, Dr. William Tucker; his daughters, Rhonda (Robert) Aronson and Sandra (Jerry) Abrams; his grandchildren, Philip, Gail, Alicia, Selene, Greyson, Laurel, Pierce, Caroline, and Whitney; and his loving friend, Beverly Cooper Silvers. Funeral services will be at noon Friday at Temple Adath Yeshurun. Friends may call Friday from 11 to Noon at the Temple, 450 Kimber Road, Syracuse. Shiva will be observed through Thursday at the home of Herb and Esther Heim, 609 Kimry Moor. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery.
