Irving Byer of 118 Ramsey Ave. died Friday at home. Mr. Byer lived in Syracuse for 75 years. He was the Founder of Byers Sales Inc., retiring in 1976. Mr. Byer was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, the LaFayette Country Club and the Danforth Masonic Lodge and was a former member of the Syracuse Automobile Dealers Association. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Paul Maynard; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Steff of Boyton Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Irving Cohen of Buffalo; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Bimbaum Funeral Chapel Burial will be in Adath Yeshuran Cemetery. Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 1909 E. Fayette St, and after the funeral at the family residence, 118 Ramsey Ave Contributions may be made to the Foundation of the Jewish Home of Central New York.
