Kaplan Cohen August 2, 2005 Sadye "Shaney" Kaplan Cohen, age 100, died August 2, 2005, at Alterra Wynwood, where she had been a resident for almost four years. Shaney, a resident of Syracuse since 1933, was the last survivor of her generation that consisted of eight other siblings to whom she was extremely devoted. That devotion extended to her many and widely scattered cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was a longtime member of Temple Society of Concord and its Sisterhood. She was predeceased by her husband Abe "Slugger" Cohen who died in 1971. Survivors: She is survived by her son, Dr. Willard (Linda) Cohen; grandsons, N. Andrew (Deborah) and Steven (Leslie); and her great-grandchildren, Josh, Sydney, Lily, Ethan and Dylan Cohen. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, 1909 E.
