Eva G. Newlander of 4101 E. Genesee St. died Tuesday at the Jewish Home of Central New York. Mrs. Newlander lived in Syracuse for 30 years. She formerly lived in Kalamazoo, Mich. She was a member of Mizarachi BNai Brith Womens Organization and Hadassah. She is survived by a son, Daniel Newlander of Southfield, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred (Philip) Cohen of DeWitt; a brother, Maurice Engerman of Highland Park, IL.; two sisters, Minnie Kauffman of Chicago, 111., and Beatrice Rose of West Bloomfield, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, Rabbi Irwin 1. Hyman and Cantor Harold Lerner officiating. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Calling hours are 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday. After services, friends may call at their convenience at the home of her daughter, Mildred Cohen, 106 Ridgecrest Road, DeWitt. Contributions may be made to the Foundation of the Jewish Home of Central New York.
