Joseph Byer Dies; Rites Thursday
JOSEPH BYER, proprietor of the Boulevard Auto Sales Company, died unexpectedly today at his home, 1530 E. Genesee St. Vice president of the Syracuse Chapter of Zionist Organization of America, Mr. Byer also was president of Camp Solel and a member of the Louis Marshall Lodge, Bnai Brith. He was a trustee of Temple Adath Yeshurun. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillian M. Byer; a son, Alan Byer; two brothers, Louis and Irving Byer, and two sisters. Mrs. Helen Steff and Mrs. Irving Cohen. Services will be conducted in Temple Adath Yeshurun at noon Thursday by Dr. Irwin I. Hyman, rabbi of the temple, and Cantor Harold Lerner. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 P.M. tomorrow.
