November 1, 2006 Zelig Koniarski, 92, died Wednesday at his home in Manlius. Zelig was a holocaust survivor. Upon liberation from the concentration camps he immediately immigrated to the state of Israel where he was a freedom fighter. Once in Israel he was reunited with his childhood friend, Perla, whom he married. In 1955, he left Israel for the United States, and was joined by his wife and daughter in 1957. Zelig was a baker with Ebingers Bakery of Brooklyn until his retirement. He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun. He was predeceased by his wife, Perla in 1995. Survived by his daughter, Sarah Edelman, and his grandchildren, Eric, Kendalia, Lisa, Jessica, and Philip. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY.
