Rites for William I. Franklin, 48, of 119 West Walnut Street. Rome, who died in the lobby of the Onondaga Hotel yesterday afternoon, were conducted at 2 P. M. Thursday at the home of a brother Max Franklin, by Rabbi Benjamin Friedman, with burial in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Coroner H. Ernest Gak said death was due to a heart condition. Mr. Franklin Was a member of the U.S. Navy in the first World War and was affiliated with Rome Lodge, Elks, Henry P Smith Post of the American Legion and was a member of the Masons in Rome. He was active in the USO and other charitable works. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Arlene Weisberg Franklin; three brothers, Joseph of New York City, Jack of Rome and Max Franklin of Syracuse and several nieces and nephews.
