David I. Gersony , 72, of 321 Summerhaven Drive N., East Syracuse , died Sunday at Crouse Hospital. Mr. Gersony was born in Syracuse and was a life resident of the area. He was president of Onondaga Music Co., which was founded by his father and uncle in 1935. Mr. Gersony retired in 1995. He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, Drumlins Country Club and the Prince Society. Mr. Gersony was a reader for the blind over WCNY radio. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European and Pacific theaters with the 343rd Infantry, Company C. He was a member of the 86th Blackhawk Division Association. Surviving are his wife, Shirley E.; a son, Howard of Syracuse ; two daughters, Bobbi Malzman of Fayetteville and Marilyn Ryan of Syracuse ; a sister, Joan Rubenstein of Sarasota, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Burial is in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. A calling hour is 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, 1909 E. Fayette St.
