Henriette Maier, 100, died Friday evening at her home in Pompano Beach, FL. Henny was born in Germany in 1914 to Max and Johanna Freimark. She was a holocaust survivor who fled Nazi Germany under great pressure and fear for her life. She traveled to The United States and worked as a domestic for affluent New Yorkers. Henny and her husband, Hans, settled in Syracuse where they started their advertising business, H. Stiefel Advertising Co. After Hans died, Henny continued to run the business, and subsequently married Fred Maier. Henny was predeceased by her daughter, Penina Maier; her husbands, Hans Stiefel and Fred Maier; and her brother, Fred Freimark. She is survived by her son, Howard Maier; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her nieces, Jo-Lee Konecky, Linda Grossman and Lori Banks; her nephews, Richard Freimark and Steven Gutmann; and her caregiver, Glenda Jerome. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family from 12:30 to 1 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Contributions in Henny\\'s memory may be made to Holocaust Memorial And Tolerance Center of Nassau County, which she supported throughout her life.
